Its central avenue, Mannerheimintie, is lined with institutions such as the National Museum, which traces the history of Finland from the Stone Age to the present day. Toompea Castle is now the Estonian Parliament’s main venue. The Lutheran Cathedral of Saint Mary, also known as the Church of the Dome, dating from 1219 is the oldest one in Tallin. The Patkuliy Kohtuotsa viewpoint is ideal for those looking forward to contemplating the wall and towers with the Baltic Sea as a background. Other must-visit spots are the gardens of the Danish King, Kök's Kiekin museum, located in the Artillery tower, the tunnels of the Tallinn Bastion, the Viru gate and the town hall square.
